Cattle are
not the only local stock that Panola Countians have taken interest in over the years.
Panola National Bank was chartered in 1983
with most of its stock being sold to Panola County folks.
Panola
National Bank opened in 1983 with an interest in serving the community. It began with a
double-wide trailer and a vision to provide much needed banking services to the growing
county. Before long, the double-wide was taken away and in its place was the lavish
landmark building account holders enjoy today.Since the bank was chartered mostly by
Panola Countians, it made sense that the name identify with those people. Hence, the name
Panola National Bank would be its designation. When the bank was chartered 16 years ago,
the majority of stock in the venture was purchased by 182 people living in the county.For
all of its 16 years, the bank has been visibly located at 1510 West Panola Street. In
addition to its many banking services, Panola National Bank also offers a unique travel
club for its members.
