Linda Davis to offer Stage Performance 101 at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame
Grammy
award winning recording artist
Linda Davis has launched a consulting firm
designed to offer guidance to other performers. Called Stage Performance
101, the new company will allow Davis, who has more than 20 years of
experience in the music business, to direct and advise other entertainers. Linda
will offer these classes at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame on Friday, June
27, 2008.
According to Davis, Stage Performance 101 is not in the business of vocal
coaching, nor is it a choreography company.
With her years of experience on
stage, Davis has an eye for laying out the overall well-rounded techniques that
set a professional apart from an aspiring artist, and in helping an artist find
their comfort zone on a stage. Whether a client is preparing for a pageant and
the needs are for a one-song event, or an artist is developing a 45-minute set
with a band, Davis can assess the need as well as the abilities of the client
and set them on their way to a successful performance.
“My objective is to allow the artist/client to be an individual, to always be
themselves, not say what I would say or move across the stage like I
would move
across the stage,” she explained. Davis has clients that range in age and
aspirations, from the 8-year old girl who is entering a talent contest, to the
woman who wants to improve her church solos; from the pageant contestant who
wants to win at the state level, to the new
recording artist who needs a 10 song
set of music to flow for 45 minutes. Each benefit from the critiques and
experience of working one on one with Davis. Call the Panola County Chamber
office at 903-693-6634 to register and for more information.
