revitalization effort that benefits not only
the Main Street district, but also the entire community,” said Debra
Farst, state coordinator of the Texas Main Street Program.

ribbons have been placed around town in support of the Panola County
Relay for Life event that will be held on June 12-13. The event will
begin at 7:00 PM on Friday and continue until 7:00 AM Saturday
morning.

"Piney
Woods Quilt Festival" will be held at the Texas Country Music
Hall of Fame, Friday, April 17 from 12:00-6:00 and Saturday, April
18, 2009, from 9:00-4:00.
►Carthage
Main Street has been designated an accredited National Main
Street Program for meeting the commercial district
revitalization performance standards set by the National Trust Main
Street Center.
“We congratulate this year’s national accredited Main Street
programs for meeting our established performance standards,” says
Doug Loescher, director of the National Trust Main Street Center.

to help make our town look more appealing to residents and visitors
traveling through our community.
