Carthage named one of America's Top-Rated Small Towns & Cities-the 2010 Edition of America's Top-Rated Small Towns & Cities awarded Carthage a rating of 4 stars recently. This handbook, by Grey House Publishing, profiles and rates 8,908 places in America with populations between 3,000 and 25,000. Up to 5 stars are awarded to each place, using a proprietary bell curve formula. The process identifies places, by state, with the highest home value, highest educational attainment, most beauty, etc. Four stars is an above average rating.

Annual Chamber Banquet - February 25 at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Guest speak will be Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples. The feature entertainment will be the 2009 John Ritter Tribute Showcase winner, Kimberly Green, from Whitehouse, Texas. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased from the Chamber office.

Country Music legend Ray Price celebrated his 83rd birthday at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame on January 12, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
