.....The library is committed to providing our patrons with the information they need to stay healthy, wealthy, and wise. 

The Sammy Brown Library is supported by Panola County, the City of Carthage, and the Carthage Service League.  Patron support of the library with volunteer hours, books, magazines, memorials, and cash donations are an important reason for our continued success.  

The library installed a new database system in March 2009.  It shows the library has loaned 220,132 items, renewed 13,536, had 84 items lost and 518 damaged. 

79,516 people used the library in 2009.  4,148 people attended programs held at the library.  We added 85 new patrons and have 14,704 patrons with 9,411 actively using their library cards.
